The OC Clerk-Recorder is coming to San Juan Capistrano for a mobile event, offering appointments for U.S. citizens to apply for a passport.

If you or your child would like to apply for a US passport, please read the information below and select an appointment time.

APPOINTMENTS FOR JULY 18TH ARE FULL.

There are two types of US passports - both are valid federal identification.

1) Passport Card is valid for crossing land borders such as San Diego to Tijuana.

2) Passport Book is valid for crossing borders by land, sea and air. For international travel by plane, the passport book is needed.

At this event, Unidos will cover the cost of Passport Cards for South Orange County children of immigrants.

What to bring

Payment Details for South Orange County children of immigrants:

If only the passport card is desired, there is no charge for this appointment.

If the family would additionally like to purchase a passport book for international air travel, please bring a check or money order made out to US Department of State in the amount of $100.

Payment Details for All other applicants:

1. Payment to the OC Clerk Recorder:

Any form of payment (check, credit or cash)

  • $7 Passport Photo and $35 processing fee

2. Payment to the US Department of State:

Only by Check or Money Order to the US Department of State.

  • Children 0-15 years old: $100 for Passport Book , $15 for Passport Card or $115 for Passport Book and Card

  • Ages 16 and above: $100 for Passport Book, $30 for Passport Card, or $130 for Passport Book and Card

To book an appointment:

  • Select Saturday, July 18.

  • Select an appointment time.

  • Fill out the form using the citizen's name (not the parent's). One appointment = One application.

  • Repeat the process if submitting applications for other citizens.

With the help of generous donors, we are providing financial support for children of immigrants 0-17 years old.

For South Orange County residents who check the box “non-US-citizen” on the parent section of their passport application, Unidos will cover the photo, processing fee, and Passport Card ($57-87 per child, depending on age).
