Programs Summer 2025
Step 1: Fill Out the Unidos South OC Waiver/Authorization Form
Before your child can participate in any Unidos South OC programs, activities, or events, you must complete a Waiver/Authorization form.
What You’ll Need:
Medical insurance information for your child
Your child’s high school graduation year
The grade your child will be entering
Note: You can use this form to submit information for more than one child.
By filling out this form, you’re giving your consent and agreeing to the terms and conditions of participation.
Step 2: Complete the Summer Sign-Ups Permission Slip
After filling out the waiver, the next step is to sign up for summer programs.
What to Do:
Read the program descriptions on the Unidos South OC website to learn about each offering.
Use the permission slip form to sign up your child for the programs that interest you.
This form will allow you to choose multiple programs for multiple children, one child at a time.
On the form, look to the right of each program name to see which grade levels are eligible.
Only choose programs that match the grade your child will be entering.
What Happens Next:
After you submit the form, Maritza (Youth Director) and/or Sarah (Elementary Coordinator) will contact you to confirm your child's enrollment.

Summer Elementary Opportunities

Monday: Emotional Wellbeing Program
Mondays, 1:30pm-2:30pm,
1st-5th grade
This program is designed to help children understand and express their emotions in a healthy way. Through dynamic activities, they will learn to recognize how different situations can generate various emotions and will develop strategies to manage their reactions effectively.

Tuesday: Library Walk
Tuesdays, 12pm-2pm,
1st-5th grade
We will walk to the library during free lunch hour to take part in fun and free activities, as well as enjoy reading time with our volunteers.

Wednesday: STEM Program
Wednesdays, 1:30pm-3pm,
1st-5th grade
This program serves as an introduction to the exciting world of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics through fun experiments, creative projects, and problem-solving challenges.

Thursday: Speech & Debate Club
Thursdays, 1:30pm-2:30pm,
4th & 5th grade
Designed for 4th and 5th grade students, this club helps children build confidence while learning to express their ideas clearly and respectfully. Through fun debates, speaking games, and teamwork, kids will improve their communication skills and learn to listen, think critically, and speak with purpose.

Friday: Chef's Club
Fridays, 1:30pm-3pm,
3rd-5th grade
In this hands-on cooking class, children will learn to prepare quick and easy meals while developing basic kitchen skills. From simple snacks to delicious lunches, they will gain confidence, practice kitchen safety, and discover how fun it is to create their own dishes.

Summer Youth Opportunities
This Summer, we have 8 weeks of academic and enrichment activities for youth from Monday through Thursday.
Session 1: June 9th-26th / Session 2: July 7th-Aug 8th
Cost $25 for the whole summer. Schedule may vary, we will provide a calendar for you. Transportation will be provided for Field Trips. It is extremely important to fill out the Authorization Form. Your commitment and attendance is important.

Monday: Art
Whether your child is a seasoned artist or just starting out, this class is open to all skill levels and abilities. Our class is community led and will provide attention and guidance to each student, encouraging them to explore their own interests and express themselves through their art. Join us for this fun and creative way to spend your Mondays this summer.

Tuesday: Academics
During our meetings, we'll have group discussions about the book we've read, sharing our thoughts, insights, and questions. We'll also have fun activities and games related to the book's themes and characters, helping to deepen our understanding and enjoyment of the story. We will have Math Tutoring and Writing Workshops. We students would have fun learning.

Wednesdays: Unidos Youth
Faith-Based program with a holistic approach for middle and high schoolers. We have games, crafts, raffles, bible stories and lots of fun! This summer we have a bonfire, Picnic,Game night, Karaoke, Movie Night, Mental Health workshops.

Thursdays: Outings!
On Thursdays, kids will have the opportunity to explore the great outdoors and engage in fun and exciting activities! We'll be exploring local parks and trails, allowing kids to experience the beauty of nature and discover new places in their community. We'll also have opportunities for group games and challenges, fostering teamwork and camaraderie among our participants.

Camp
Youth 7th to 12th grade may also be added to the interest list for a week-long sleep-away camp in the mountains at Yosemite Sierra. This is a faith-based experience in partnership with Star Rock Ministries.

Star Rock Ministries partners with Emerald Cove Day Camp to create XLR8, a week-long camp experience that grows and celebrates the whole child. A week at XLR8 helps young campers develop character, skills, relationships, and faith through a creative outdoor program packed with activity, fun, and loads of encouragement from well trained and nurturing staff. At XLR8, days are tech-free and brimming with opportunities for campers’ imaginations to soar. Through a blend of small and large group activities, and exciting off-site adventures, kids have the freedom to explore new interests, develop greater love for the outdoors, and immerse themselves in essential imaginative play.

The kids and youth will experience kayaking or paddle boarding while learning about marine life. Physical activity involvement.
