Each spring at St. Margaret’s, the school community engages in an all-school service learning project. This effort is designed to more deeply meet the existing needs of a partner organization, provide a cross-division opportunity for student learning, and rally all Tartans around a common purpose. 

For the 2025-2026 school year, we will partner with Unidos South OC. Unidos South OC (Unidos) has a mission to cultivate a resident-led movement toward a thriving neighborhood as a reflection of God’s love. Specifically, Unidos works with the residents of the Capistrano Villas neighborhood in San Juan Capistrano. It was founded in 2017 and has since grown into a thriving, resident-led, community-based organization. 

The all-school project will engage students and families to meet one of Unidos’ most pressing needs: a gathering space for adolescent youth. Recently, Unidos purchased a property that will function as staff residence, programming space, and youth gathering space. Now, Unidos is working with the residents to renovate the new space in a manner that meets their needs. And St. Margaret’s has the opportunity to partner in this effort!

Please note that gifts made through this site will be received by Unidos as monetary donations, which in turn will be honored by the Unidos team as closely as possible to meet the needs of local youth. Unidos will be sure to continue communicating with you about its efforts in our community.
