Rain or Shine
Día del Niño did not come with the weather we expected. By 10am, the rain was pouring as booth hosts arrived and began setting up. What we hoped would be a passing drizzle became a steady downpour. There was a moment of uncertainty, would people pack up and head home?
But instead of stepping back, everyone leaned in.
Booth hosts reassured our team they were happy to be here, and even more so, happy to celebrate with us. Volunteers asked where they could jump in. Neighbors smiled through the storm. No one hesitated. Everyone stood by us.
The rain cleared, and what remained was more than an event, it was a reminder. A reminder that community does not depend on perfect conditions. It depends on people choosing to show up for one another.
